"Yes, I have used a real time tick chart"
(1)trade for a living> I've made it perfectly clear I don't trade for a living. What I do is keep a daytrading account with interest from my Fed Res Tbills.
(2)If I hadn't dabbled in trading, I'd have done better> My condolences
(3)but over the next 10 - 15 years.> I may be dead by then
(4)Day trading won't match the returns> wrong. I started daytrading & swing trading only msft in about 1996 using a second buyin apart from my 1989 position trade. The only stock I daytraded for over a year was msft. Over time I noticed a marked advantage of daytrading msft over my position trade, even in a good msft year.
(5)guess the market will go tomorrow> Now that's a point you position traders fail to understand. I don't "care" what the market does tomorrow. I will be on the right side no matter what it does. I will be glad to explain how to be on the right side if you are interested, probably on a weekend.
(6)second great depression>I prefer not to take that risk. Did I ever tell you about my grand dad who lost it all in the railroad sector.
