Don't think I can help you with the trading index. Never heard of it myself, but I may have to look into it. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Velo and Rande: re: Ralph Bloch. When he was interviewed today on CNBS, he quoted numbers consistent with the Trin, which he referred to as the "trading index", I believe.
It was confusing, but I was watching the Trin the last few days, and his number references were consistent with this.
Hope this helps.
James
P.S. Velociraptor, I appreciate your site, and the hard work that goes into it. Making me some good $$$ on the short side.
Edit: my wife told me that, toward the end of the day, at the time CNBS interviews a floor trader, he was saying that there wasn't so much strong selling as a "lack of buyers". Well the Trin at 2.3 says different, doesn't it?
BTW: how about the Wayne Angell(90% chance of a interim rate cut; Abby Cohen(increase equities and buy tech, too); IBM interday conference message, better than average results expects, and after the close IBM says "no such information was given".
How long will people fall for this interday and daily manipulation effort to suck in buyers, while massive distribution continues?
This is truly evil, and people's future's are at stake here.
Oh, and the Senate wants to diddle on the tax package till they can create a budget, maybe June? Good luck.
