JFS, There is a difference between killing and murder. Murder is done with spite, malice(AKA hate), and premeditation.

contract murders--paid for by those with spite and malice by ones who pay for it, and the killers do it in a premeditated way.

Self defense--not murder at all, and exempt from your comparison.

war--No hate, and no premeditation on an individual scale, ergo not murder.

uthenasia--No spite, malice, but with premeditation and aforethought, and also a very difficult call.

abortion--Murder in the first degree!!!!

death penalty--Another hard one to call but, since it is not an individual deed but is done by state law with the permission of the majority of the voters of said state, it becomes an "eye for an eye, tooth for tooth" thing.

J.F.

"......there are lot's of killings without hate, eg contract murders"

Do you really think that a contract murder is less offensive than a murder motivated by hate?? I would be hard put to make such a distinction.

I find it amusing when people find the death penalty abhorrent, while calling themselves pro-choice.

Absolutely amazing!
