Amazon is a case where the cash is due to debt (and their book value is negative and becoming negativier by the day<G>). I don't know if their bonds are worth anything, but they wish they could mark to market the bonds. You must admit however, that Bezo is the master swindler managing to sell to the European some $2 B in worthless paper at conversion rate to stock which, even if they survive, may not be seen for many many years. On this thread AMZN has been a favorite short for a long time.
