>>that'd be something if it was doubleclick 'calling home' that has been setting off your alarm.<<

It should not do it in Netscape, as Netscape stores cookies in the Netscape user folder. These were found in the Windows/Cookies folder. I do use IE the odd time, but these *things* my firewall alerted me too was very strange and happened while using Netscape.

>>the lavasoft freeware is well done, don't you agree?<<

Yes, it seems good. Thanks for the link.

I need to learn more about spyware. If it's not someone calling you at the office tyring to sell you a newspaper subscription, or someone calling you at home trying to sell you the same dam newspaper subscription again, or some other service, it;'s now spyware on the computer.
LOL...what a ZOO

Just wondering if someone can help with a Windows NT problem that I'm having.
How do I get Windows NT to turn off my monitor after, say, 15 minutes. What I want is for the green light on my monitor to turn to amber. W2K has this feature built-in and it's called "Energy saving features of monitor" under display properties.

I'm not referring to a screen saver with a blank screen which makes your screen blank but does NOT change the green light to amber i.e., I want to disable the video input from the computer to the monitor after 15 minutes.

Thanks for your help.
