I like the QUALCOMM baby! But he sure does look annoyed that his idiot father has blown the inheritance. Is he holding his right hand in the way one would hold a pistol when older? Perhaps a psychologist should be consulted.

I wonder if anyone has checked the correlation of school shootings [and other mayhem by angry people] with Nasdaq movements. That boy Lebed [no relation of the famous Russian general I suppose] did well but was quite surly about being harassed by the SEC for no good reason, although he did make some good profits even after paying them off to get them off his back.

Sticking with school where many of us know it's no great fun, is NOT so attractive when the Trust Fund is being converted to confetti and working for a living becomes obvious as a future.

Come to think of it, I'm not all that thrilled about my share prices and future just now...and Hey! [as they say here in the USA] I can assert my constitutional right to bear arms and carry swords, muskets, Magnums, those cute little burp guns the presidential security people grab from in their jacket pocket, bazookas and Howitzers and what the hell, some tactical fusion reactors, go down the road and load up some heat and become famous by blowing up and shooting the whole of Wall Street, [being notorious pays quite well - selling the story - and as OJ found, he gets the girls too - they love his notoriety he says].

Does Tekuboi-san want to make a name for himself in my newly-formed gang? Do school shootings occur after Nasdaq downers? Do people really think shootouts between people with the right to bear arms is such a great thing in a modern urban environment? Is there a well-regulated militia in your neighbourhood? It's well-concealed here [near San Diego] but I don't know about well-regulated. Mostly there just seems to be crazed people with guns. Texans kill untold migrating doves each year in what must be one of the wackiest shoot-ups in the world.

The rest of the world is bemused! Meanwhile, I hope Condoleezza and W aren't planning a shoot-up anywhere to show they are not to be trifled with. They are doing some in Iraq, which is helping keep the price of oil up and oil company profits at all-time highs, and I hope that's enough to keep them amused. They could always go and paddle around in East Timor and a few Indonesian hot-spots if they need something else to do. My biggest hope is that they keep their 6-Gun in its holster until all the old Long-Marchers and cronies in China have fallen off the perch and been replaced by a younger generation which will not be so inclined to forests of rifles as a cultural imperative. Precipitous action would be very, very bad. The USA attention span of two seconds with a 10 syllable sound bite in the form of a slogan to avoid the need to think doesn't mesh well with the Chinese norm of timelessness and verbal intricacy. "Just do it" are the words I dread in regard to China which has suffered a long history of foreigners intruding on their lives [including of course my honorable ancestors]. I suppose they are disinclined to have the USA become a new ruler of them.
