I think the paid users of SI should be outraged that the thread police are basically taking censorship into their own hands, and telling them that they are too stupid to make up their own minds.

Anyone should be allowed to start their own thread and say whatever they want on that particular thread, including advertising. If the material is not useful, people will move on.
