Your dots are scattered. How can you admit it is "adequate", then claim it misses the so-called "central" tenet? That makes no sense at all.

Most definitions of communism are similar to the one I copied along with others referencing political systems and Marxist doctrine. Socialists of all stripes can be fairly characterized as communists because they advocate government seizure of assets from the people.
