RE: money markets.

When you have cash in accounts w/brokerages ... Fidelity, for example ... sitting in their money market funds, the rates fluctuate (that much I know).

These Fidelity money market funds are 'guaranteed' -- or insured against losses -- by no one, correct? Certainly not the FDIC.

Therefore, is there ANY possibility that the cash itself could be lost? Not the interest -- that could go to zero, correct?

The capital.

I never thought about this until now.
