My main aim was to point out that the Social Democrats have been relatively weak for a long time, and therefore Sweden has not been much more "socialist" than most European countries in the post- War era.

As I said, perhaps the best country in the world to live in - certainly in the top three - for the quality of life for the vast majority of people; all, perhaps, except the billionaires who find they have somewhat less ability to shape society to suit them...

Determining the best countries to live in, is mostly subjective. There is not only the potentially (but not always) objective evaluation to decide how the country meets certain criteria, there is the subjective choice as to what criteria to select and how much weight to give each. Even if we did agree on the criteria (and I doubt we do, at least not completely) I doubt you could make a good evaluation of the merits of a particular country from reading a "statement of government policy" put out by its ruling party.
