<< The answer to that question will lie in the Markets response to the next BOE auction. >>

It's nice that gold is pulling back, the day before the BOE auction. Once again, England will have another chance to sell gold at the low for the week and invest the cash in equities or currencies, at the high for the week.

Who says that government bureaucrats don't know what they are doing? <g>

OTOH, they are cutting auctions back from 25 tons to 20 tons. I wonder if they are doing that so that they can stretch out auctions for additional years, and thusly try to drive the price of gold down?

Kaplan says that gigantic amounts of gold are being leased. What happens if after the boe auction the lessors discover that they don’t want to be short gold?

I don’t think you can game this market. You're either in or out. If you are able to trade this market, you shouldn't waste your time with it.

FWIW, I've seen statistics that show that only 1 or 2 % of the professional traders make money trading as opposed to market making. How many of us fit into that elite? I know that I don’t.

Rarebird, this thing is REAL. It's not one of those fakeouts. Now, would you stay out if you knew it was real?

The time to get back into the gold stocks will be when POG falls and the stocks ignore it. Just like last Friday's action when the XAU fell 3% as POG jumped was a classic sell signal.
