Harry,

Talking the economy down leads to decreases in confidence, which leads to further declines in the economy.

It is a vicious circle which no president since Carter has been stupid enough to facilitate.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Tuesday that a government report showing a drop in U.S. retail sales suggested further weakness in the U.S. economy.<<<<<

And yet when retail sales were up strongly in January, not a word from the WH......like I said accenting the negative, ignoring the positive. Just the opposite of B. Clinton.
