I'd be satisfied to buy a newer (<3 years) house for $75/sqft, current prices around here running $110-135 for decent homes...

Looks like the move we expected is here, even sooner than most everyone would have expected.

I put some code on a chart to highlight all the gap downs in COMPX and SPX..

Just some random musings early this Wednesday morning:

We are all used to gap down on the Nasdaq - its littered with them.

But the SPX - not so.

'87 flush, after sinking for a number of days, accelerated with a gap down. (And COMPX got treated to another the next day).

For the stat lovers (bear in mind its 5am where I am and no coffee on yet) the COMPX has had about 23 gap down days since Jan 2000.

The SPX has had only one. Yes, only one.

So if cash opens gap down, its worth paying close attention to this day
