Here are some points: The recent census count puts the entire number of Latino Americans at 38 million, supposedly including all persons legal and illegal. I estimate that this is an undercount by about 5-10 million and that is conservative. Consider this as a conservative number which is illegal, and here is what I learned many of them do: 1.Most of the ones who work as nannys and maids get paid in cash. No tax base. 2. A single immigrant with a valid work permit often has two or more persons carrying a fake of that card and as well as a copy of the Social Security Card. The IRS perceives that one individual working three jobs since the weely earnings come in often at up to 140 hours a week. (60,000 annually) All three alias' claim the maximum number of dependents on their W2. Again, little tax base. But very productive work, even awesome work. Happy homebuilders, restaurant managers, Alan Greenspan, etc. So do they spend? Nope, most in this category don't want citizenship, they are packing this money away so that they can support their family on minimum needs either here, Mexico, or elsewhere. So my point is there is incredible productivity by some very dependable persons. But if the majority of the earnings from 10 of 30 back of house workers workers at any busy restaurant USA does not go to our tax base OR get spent at Mall USA, that is a deflationary element to our economy. They do spend on clothing and apparel needs, it is no wonder why that sector remains strong, as well as discount retailers. And these numbers are conservative. Anyhow, given this is sensitive political talk to some, it likely does not factor into Fed policy. As for me personally I don't care I owe it to these folks for supporting me as a manager in service while in college.
