We may be in a recession. You don't really know if you are offically in a recession until later. A recession is 2 quarters or more of negative growth. If this Q is negative and next Q is as well then we are all ready in a recession, but we won't know it for sure until some time in the second half of 2001.

You think with an unemployment rate of 4.2% and monthly job increases that we may be in a recession? Well think again.....GNP is expected to grow modestly this quarter and we are not in a recession.
