Being a business owner, I use and will continue to use B2B. I prefer vendors that provide online ordering. Very helpful to be able to have off hours access to vendors away from high traffic customer hours in my store. It has happened, and will continue to happen, however not at the frantic pace some thought it would happen. Reaching more customers will be a bigger reality in the future also.

I would hate to return the way business was conducted two, five, ten or twenty years ago, all of which was less efficient.

Just a long term view.

From the beginning, the promise of the net was its potential power as a medium to generate advertising dollars.

I do not think the potential for advertising dollars was ever the main promise of the internet. Instead, it is a powerful medium for communication and information especially as it pertains to business. It changes relationships of everything that has a use for it. The potential is still there and will continue to improve and change with technology.
