I'm not directly involved w/ ALA, but I will find out what I can from those that are. From what I can see, there is no reason to think ALA/SBC lunch is being eaten by competitor(s), just seems to be belt-tightening as part of the general slowdown. It's important to point out that when an OEM like ALA sneezes, CEM's (ACT, SMTC, SLR) seem to catch pneumonia. So the reaction from the latter may be more dire than the outlook of the former. Anyway, the market seems to be voting for DSL over cable, and with such a small % of consumers served, and unless superior option emerges (unlikely very soon), demand should be strong for quite awhile yet. I hope!
