Actually Moufassa - I don't think the 2000 was significant (except perhaps for psychological purposes). Once we busted through 1980 after what seemed like half a dozen attempts, some shorts started covering.

I jumped on CIEN and JNPR when 1980 broke figuring thats where some shorts were - and I was right - actually I scalped CIEN 3 times - up and down - lol. great short covering action.

In any case, I am still treading cautiously in this market. I think a lot of the trading after 1980 may have been short covering - and traders like us squeezing them.

Anyway - I see resistance on the way up at the gap down point of roughly 2050 on the COMP and 1815 on the NDX.

Who knows what news can come out overnight

Oops - gotta go squeeze shortie one more time on CIEN - lol
