"Amazingly the stock is up right now."

It's not so amazing to me. It took off right after I sold half my shares! :o)

Gotfried, I agree. I used $3 as a sobering # to remind longs that SSTI (just 1 semi) could have another 60% downside from here.

Tech spending could be in a secular decline over the next several years. It's unlikely, but possible.

Also $3 is not necessary a floor for SSTI if you pull up the 5 yr chart you'll see where it came from. Most of the other stocks (along with the index have given up all of their 1999 gains. Why should SSTI be any different?

SSTI - 5yr chart.

finance.yahoo.com

Cramer has 16 more pieces coming about whether or not the Semi's hitting bottom (when it'll happen, why, etc). Should be good reading.

As far as SSTI rallying...why shouldn't it short term. The short are covering and longs are buying thinking now surely all the bad news must be priced in. Wait another 1-3 months as estimates on yahoo get guided down. Then we'll see another wave of selling.
