the first link is incredible and I saved it but unfortunately the link inside for the network didn't work.

However, gold was seemingly struck with the second link you provided:

To restore the Network Neighborhood icon to the desktop, open the Network control panel and click the Add button. Select Client from the list, then click Add. In the list select Microsoft in the left pane and Client for Microsoft Networks in the right pane, then click OK.

This returns you to the Network dialog. If you need to set network para meters for an NT network, select Client for Microsoft Networks from the list and click the Properties button. In the dialog box, you'll need to enter values for your local Windows NT domain. Click OK to return to the Network dialog, and enter the necessary information in the Identification and Access control tabs. Check with your network administrator for the specific information you'll need to enter.
