That's the city, the rest of the state is gun toting NRA members, Bush/Chenny bumper stickers, tobacco growers and KKK members. (you never know, they might be democrats but I doubt it) Although, as you approach DC you do have all those gov'ment workers. The democratic/liberal population outnumbers the conservative/republican in the state but only because of the city.

Still cheaper to live here than most of the other states on either coast even with the high tax and we have really nice highways. It's a beautiful state once you get outta B-more.

Business Week had a salary calculator on it's site for a while. You plugged in your salary and then they told you how much you'd need to live somewhere else. If I moved to San Francisco or NYC I'd need twice my income to live exactly the same way or if my income stayed the same I could live half as well.
