Maybe "they" want OPEC to cut so they manipulated the numbers higher? ;o)

Sorry, couldn't resist!

Anyone wondering where all that crude came from?

TOTAL CRUDE IMPORTS

TOTAL U.S. WEEK ENDED: 03/09/01 9997
TOTAL U.S. WEEK ENDED: 03/02/01 7940

There is 14MMB right there. I have always felt that most supply changes are just import fluctuations that could be caused by many different things (like weather) that have little to do with supply/demand. Domestic production hardly budges and it is seems unlikely that demand in this enormous market varies much week-to-week so what else is left but imports?

Between JimL's posts and the reality revealing itself to me on the screen, I got good and spooked this morning. I made to damn much over the last 8 weeks to give it all back. I sold several positions P GRP WM and partials PKD CSCO , although I did return for some OEI.

I suppose the US News & World Report article I read last night about Japan made me think more about the down side.

I am trying to keep 12-18 months cash needs on hand.

Two things I never want to do, #1 is to have to sell at a loss because I need cash and #2 is not to have cash & buying power when great bargains are made available.
