why do you suppose there is an estimated six-month build-up of inventories in this high-tech economy of ours?

Perhaps because there is not enough SCM software deployed yet? The inventory problems might help ITWO to sell new and better products.

Victor: Do You know anything about SCM? ARBA is not an SCM company and ITWO has only penetrated a very tiny fraction of the market. The current market is exactly right for companies to want to increase their spending in the SCM area where they can make vast improvements in their operations -- you do understand what this is all about I assume -- yes? Take a car for example. The average car has about 15,000 parts. Each part is considered during design for product/process improvement potential and must then be mated to all the other parts -- this costs billions of dollars and takes several years. Every aspect of production and capacity planning must then be undertaken and all production must be set up so that there is a minimum of inventory, yet there can be no shut downs due to lack of parts availability -- and most suppliers must be able to deliver final product to perfectly mesh with final production demand variation and then be packed onto trucks in reverse order of their use in assembly plants where there simply are no areas for storing any parts -- and orders often come in until a few hundred minutes before final assembly -- trying doing this without SCM software.
