Steve, you may have a point, although normally, when a company is welcomed into an area, it is because even a lousy wage is better than nothing. Still, it is hard to avoid restiveness when the wage is meager, and you are right, instability drives away investment.

One thing that is promising about he digital revolution is the increase in productivity possible without a highly trained workforce. If each individual quintuples his output, it is possible to quintuple his wages without losing money. Meanwhile, the boss protects his investment, avoids relocation, and every one is happy.......
