Secular Bull:

I guess I am just cantakerous tonight and can't seem to agree with anyone.

"Granted, left alone, the economy is likely to do well without government tampering."

I don't really think the economy left alone would likely do well. In fact in past times when we had far less government there have been booms and busts. I do think the government can maybe and that is a big maybe make the landings a little softer, but they will never control the business cycle. In part because the cycle is based on human psychology and they are just as likely to be caught up in that as the public. I will say however in defense of Greenspan that when he warned of the bubble he was belittled by many. Remember, it was his warnings that supposedly caused the market to crash. The fact is we have reached the end of the cycle and we will have a year or two of recession and I hope that is the worst of it.
