Government is the sharing of wealth to insure the adequate provision of services and the well being of its citizenry. In an affluent society like ours, we should be willing to insure that none go hungary and homeless. BTW that's not communism...that's being a good Christian, Jew, Muslim, agnostic, atheist, etc. Sharing is voluntary. Government is about forced confiscation. Communism is about a greater level of forced confiscation and usually harsher methods to impose it on those who might not want to "share". I am all for sharing. I'd like to see more money given to charitable causes, but when you face imprisonment or death if you don't fork it over then you are dealing with extortion not sharing. The practical good generated by this extortion might justify some level of it but even when it is justifiable it is an ugly thing. Tim
