Hi Chuck & Tim - thx for both of your input. MG seems to be doing a decent job to provide me with the #s quickly. I did sample a couple of those good will laden stks, like VIGN and INSP, they seem to be kosher. I think Yahoo! actually is using MG w/o the breakout. Tim is absolutely right that it is best to use SEC filings and other information from the "horse's mouth" --- especially for forward #s.

These days, I would subtract the good will and the intangibles to give me a bottom line #s. This should give me close to tangible book value. I also take a quick look at the acct receivables [as an aside, I am going to incorporate Zeev's AAPL case study to also look at the acct payables. Thanks, Zeev <g>]

But of course, after all the research, a lot of time I would buy something haphazardly anyway <sg>
