LPS5,

Shelly Finkel is currently Tyson's manager of record. He's been out in front of the cameras after Tyson's bouts and has been Tyson's mouthpiece in the papers.

Until this latest "Meet The Press" love affair junket, Tyson's public behavior has been despicable. In that regard, I'd have to give Finkel's father figure influence a fat F.

As for Finkel's handling of Tyson's boxing affairs, he has done a superb job. Finkel has managed to move Tyson into the big money and title contention, both of which based on merit are undeserved. Beating the Botha, Norris, Francis, Savarese, bum of the month club has put the sheen back on Tyson. But isn't that really what a boxing manager's job is? Getting the most money for his fighter, and himself of course, with the least risk. He's certainly not trying to expose Tyson to different fighting styles to give Tyson experience at this stage of his career. As such, for his boxing biz acumen, I'd give Finkel an A.
