I didn't realize Starband was being bundled with TV. I knew DirecPC was being bundled with DirecTV. The satellite dish for satellite internet must be set with great precision in order to receive the signal, unlike the satellite dish for satellite TV. My first thought is that the dish hasn't been set right, or that somehow it comes loose.

I haven't seen Starband in stores yet, but I have seen DirecPC and used it, which is when I fell in love with satellite internet, as a concept. My idea was to use it in a laptop, though, and the technology really isn't there yet, at least not for broadband.

This site has some helpful feedback from users, including some rather detailed debugging stories and suggestions.

starbandusers.com

edit: I just went to the site and see they have changed to a pay format starting today ($15/yr), fwiw, I have no ax to grind here.
