Can any of our Canuck friends comment on it? Lord help us when we get an economic downstroke as we certainly will. And what is up with globex? It is very red. Spoos down 26 and Dung down 64. Someone better wake EasyAl and get him out of his morning bubble bath. -g-From: rmgin (rmgin@dlcwest.com) Subject: Re: Foot and Mouth disease? Like I said in a previous post - you're just too sensitive. BTW I'll explain some of the reasoning behind my Nationalism. 1. Farmers on the Canadian prairies are going broke because of the ongoing subsidy wars between the EU and the US. Canada, Australia and Argentina are caught in the middle and we are taking the brunt of your SHIT! (Actually the biggest grain subsidy culprit is France where there grow much inferior grain to Canada on heavily fertilized and abused soil. England is much less to blame on this particular issue.) 2. We just went through a real ass-kicking of the Brazilians over unfair Aircraft subsidies that the rest of the world (WTA) says we are in the right. They won't play fair by the world's rules so we used our FTA with the US and Mexico to kill imports of beef products to ALL of North America. Now I know the politicians claim innocence in this but we know better. Brazil burned our flag in effigy and in great anger but we won the battle and we'll see if we can win the war. Excuse the nationalist chest thumping here OR don't! I don't care. My dad's a farmer and he doesn't have a thing left to retire on -- he can't even sell his land because everyone around here is in deep shit. The last couple of years the entire province had a negative farm income.... IE we are paying the banks, oil companies, railways and multi-national feritilizer/chemical companies everything while the Americans and the EU farmers are making a living because their governments have deeper pockets. BTW Since this topic is so far out of rec.backcountry interests -- I'm dropping this right now and you won't see another remark from me on this topic. Do what you wish.
