Let's not forget that margin calls and fund redemptions may occur in the later afternoon. If the market heads up 15 minute after the gap down, there will be a short bounce of a few hours. A few longs in techs for a daytrade may work. The last hour can go either way so best to be out.

If it heads down after the gap, it's anyone's guess.
