JRI, students of Austrian economics recognize that at some point the imbalances and excesses become so great and balances sheets so strained that a retrenchment is unavoidable and monetary ease will be ineffective. I suspect we are very near that point but cannot rule out one last big hurrah after a desperate 100 basis point cut- preferably a surprise before an options expiration -g- Mike
