LOL,
Sorry if I came off too strong, must be the high octane coffee I'm drinking this am. I disagree that tech companies are in denial of the spreading problems. If anything, it's the analysts who are failing to see some very obvious signs. You are right to comment on buy and holders jumping in with both feet on tech stocks as we have no reason to believe that a bottom has been made. At the same time, I have a feeling that many active traders are positioning themselves for the expected FED rate cut. We will see some short covering. We will see heavy volatility if we are near a bottom, IMO. But in no way am I saying that this is the bottom (which it could be but we won't know that for a few months). Trading techs for bounces, or massively over sold conditions is one way to play the weakness. Buying gold for security reasons or if you think that there's enough reasons to be a gold bull is another way to play the market. There are other industries which have done pretty well in the face of the overall market weakness where one can put some money to work. The short side is still available but we've fallen a long way and I would think that the 'easy money' has already been made for the most part in most of tech land.

I have been trading select tech companies but only one company on my radar has hit the level where I have bought them for the longer term with the understanding that I'm too early. I wouldn't recommend this company to others at this stage, even though I could be right. I've also traded oils and a couple of gold miners. If you're a trader, be nimble and gauge your risk.
