About making a statement today with guidence about profit:

From Dagens Industri:
Nokia dementerar rykten
2001-03-14

(Direkt)

Brief translation:
We have no such plans, have not organized anything......
Just a rumor from Deutsche Bank
We have not invited media or analysts to a pressconference etc
Marjatta Nissinen at Nokias unit for investor relations.(Direkt)

I feel that it's is extremely doubtful that Nokia will warn. My reasoning: If Q1 world sales are only flat with Q4 2000, Nokia will still gain market share by several million units - maybe 5% or so. This allows their margins to drop an equal amount and have profits stay the same, which is what Jorma has previously implied. Then there is Nokia's previously announced plan to take $1 billion out of expenses for a further cushion. If they gain even further market share with the MOT and ERICY chaos, profits for Q1 might even go up a penny or two.

An optimistic view from Sisuman

Dear llmarinen, doesn't Nokia usually pre-announce an earnings shortfall? Last summer,
I recall that they told us that sales would be flats months b4 earnings.

Do you have any idea when Communicator might be available over here?

Do you have one? How do you like it?

Cheers,

Mephisto
