The only possible negative effect of these carbon dioxide emissions is global warming. Even assuming that these emissions are causing global warming and that global warming is a big problem (I don't make these assumptions but we have all ready had this discussion), it might actually benefit Canada.

Whether you believe that global warning is an issue or not doesn't matter. We do know for sure that CO2 and other emissions from the burning of fossil fuels attracts radiant heat from outer space which, in turn, enhances the production of smog.

I happen to think smog is not a good thing and I would not be surprised if Canada agrees. That's why I posted the way I did.
