But of course, Intel investors, whose use of their computer goes only as far as type letters with 2 fingers will not understand. I'll grant you that you can do a lot of publishing with Word, but how much time are you spending inserting graphics versus typing? Even doing desktop publishing (which I do frequently), graphics insertion is only a small portion of the process. I type 80-100WPM, and I can only get a 700MHz machine to 10% CPU utilization from simple typing. I also insert graphics... of course, I've done work with them beforehand in photoshop to make sure they are the right size (both physically and file) to easily import into the document. I'm also importing these images through a 1.6MBs wireless network, and they come in almost instantaneously. Now, if I was trying to insert a 1.0MB or larger image file, that would be a different story, but I've generally found image files that large are not common in documents as it's generally overkill. Any presentation which is going to remain on the screen only needs to be 75 DPI, and very few printers offer the print quality to make more than 150-300DPI a realistic option. Just out of curiosity, are you using Win 2K as your operating system? What MB are you using to support the ATA-66/100 hard drive???
