The numbers simply do not support your contention. I can PM you long-term charts that show this to be the case. I am not making an argument for anything here other than accurate historical perspective. P/c > 1 may be above average, but is not historically high. Did you not even look at that chart? Try this one: stockcharts.com[h,a]maclyymy[d19900101,20010314][pb50!b200][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9] (Both of these charts only go back a few years, so you can not get the proper view, but they certainly help more than looking at a few months of data.)
