You might not remember, but I heaped a lot of praise on Coppermine... I'm not sure I was around then, so I can't speak to that... As far as RAMBUS, that was a bad move for the P3 as there was no benefit. For the P4, however, there clearly is a benefit, and the price of the memory has dropped substantially. Merced is a demonstration vehicle, and I think only the most optimistic saw it as anything but... McKinley, however, should be a completely different animal... I still firmly believe that IA-64 is the future...
