Let's now consider the flip side for a stock holder long a semi equipment stock that has been nicely cushioned by the 7.5B number (I do think that the entire sector has been quite strong since the announcement of that number earlier this year).

1) Does this bullish posturing create more down side risk for the stock holder should the 7.5B number diminish?
2)Does it also not dissuade AMD from spending on Capex?

Also, in the grand scheme of things, 7.5 B represents about 15% of the total spent on front-end equipment (this from a knowledgeable friend, although I will need to re-check it).
