Hello Pat, It's hard to believe that in five days there have only been four posts on this thread. The cash angle sounds great. But software that has no peer? Think about that one for a moment ;) One of the contentious issues surrounding all of these optical WAN platforms is whose model will ultimately be used, if not win out, in the evolving global networking scheme. Adapting SONET containers to a mesh environment using what? A central intelligence model, or one that is distributed? I'm talking about the contest between ODSI (does ODSI still exist by its original name?) and the model being promoted by the optical internetworking forum (OIF), which was started by Cisco and Ciena, et al. Pat? Would you, or someone else kindly bring us up to speed in these regards? FAC
