I think people also need to step out of the box and realize that the S&P is simply companies picked by a some folks for their supposed pedigree [mket cap] which makes them worthy of inclusion into the club. Indexing certainly has it's drawbacks. You wan't S&P chosing your investments for you?? They certainly arent' much good with their bond crystal ball.
