it made no sense, period. i criticized the decisions at the time they were made, and predicted that these additions would deepen the eventual bear market for the SnP.

<What was the logic of adding Broadvision, Yahoo, JDSu, and the likes to the index? it made no sense unless they wanted to let mutual funds off the hook by blaming it on "the Market" > I think people also need to step out of the box and realize that the S&P is simply companies picked by a some folks for their supposed pedigree [mket cap] which makes them worthy of inclusion into the club. Indexing certainly has it's drawbacks. You wan't S&P chosing your investments for you?? They certainly arent' much good with their bond crystal ball. DAK
