You said you were certain. This implies that you have no doubt. This is bad, IMO because True Believer's (of whatever dogma they promote) tend to be doers of net evil. I don't think science should be approached with certainty. Good scientists don't do that. Neither is absolute doubt justified. Perhaps such certainty that you expressed comes from a context that I don't understand. That is possible because I doubt my science and beliefs as absolutes. You claim you have no such doubt. That makes you suspect in my book. They are always reasons a belief should be subject to question. If you want to question mine, I'll either support them well or you will leave me with a doubt of my understanding. Physics is and has been wrong - hence my example of the Focault pendulum. However, the general envelope of error for science demonstrably shrinks whereas the nominal envelope of error based upon beliefs remains the same. This is a provable statement because if you survey all the beliefs you will find that MOST of the strong tenets are in conflict with other such belief systems. They also have almost no predictive value. A theory whether theological or philosophical is only as good as its predictions. Taliban believes that it is doing the right thing. I don't think anyone typically goes around and thinks they do the WRONG thing unless they are a sociopath. Even the most devote true believer isn't what I'd consider a sociopath. They all believe they are going for a Greater Good, but have tenous evidence for this belief. It is through such purported "certainty" that they can do so many things to others of different minds.

I did no such thing. Stop whining! I followed your words where they led. Your words are you. All you got from me was your comeuppance.
