oh that..it is an innovative idea, but suggests a 'fixing' of the gold price, which sounds to me too socialistic. imo the world's fiat currencies will devalue against gold anyway eventually, as confidence sags further.

I'm curious, how does a country devalue their currency against gold? If you devalue it against gold, you are going to devalue it against everything else aren't you, so why specify gold? There sure are a lot of theories on gold and currencies and how countries should do this or that, and in the end gold will be the victor and all the gold bugs get rich and say how smart they were. Don't get me wrong I've got a pot full of NEM and have suffered the ups and downs waiting for the great gold rally for over a year. I guess i'm finally starting to get a bit cynical.
