Dear little joe >>>But, all of us are not offended by hate crimes. For instance, the most active participants on
this thread have said that they don't recognize hate crimes as being different from other
crimes. This is scary!

The most retarded on this thread say what you just said and I say show me the words that you interpret to mean that any on this thread are not offended by hate crimes. I also would like to see your proof that some don't recognize hate crimes as being different from other crimes.

I'd suggest you need a class in reading comprehension.

<< It is fascinating to me that you blame the fact that we have too many laws on lawyers, when it seems to me you want to add additional laws to deal with your pet peeves. >>

Racial, cultural and religious hate crimes are a pet peeve? I'm glad you feel that way. Anyway, I didn't blame "too many laws" on lawyers, I blamed "tangled mess of too many laws" on lawyers. There are good ways to write law and bad, tangled ways.

<< Don't you understand that silly laws ... >>

Let's not make "silly" hate crime laws. Let's make them with some teeth.

<< They are not the result of lawyers. >>

How many of our politicians were/are lawyers? Many many many many, and many.

<< The judge has discretion and if the crime is a hate crime he or she can simply give more time or a higher fine ... >>

Since you feel this happens all the time already, lets make it official and make it law.

<< In Capital cases where the penalty is death. Are we going to kill them twice. >>

After we fry them, we could try killing their soul.

<< The hate crimes legislation is exactly the kind of legislation that is feel good but accomplishes nothing. >>

Not true. If hate crime laws would extend punishments, it would accomplish quite a lot, both against the criminal and as a lesson to our children and to the world.

<< I know of no judge in my area who would not consider the fact that a crime was motivated by hate as an aggravating factor and who would not increase the sentence as a result. >>

Hmmmm!? Next time I'm at the North Pole I'll stop by your place and buy you a beer.
