Why would they expect to get a lifetime of good, free advice? It doesn't make any sense to me.

Because until now that has been the spirit of the internet ... lots of good, free advice ... not just in the stock market but in technical fields as well.

The internet is a buyer's market not a seller's market. The only sellers that can really hope to be successful and profitable selling products or services on the Internet are those with unique products or products that bring significant value to the buyer.

There will be very successful companies in every field on the internet but there will be many more unsuccessful ones. The ones that succeed will be the ones that find ways to differentiate themselves from the rest.

I don't know who said it but there's a phrase that goes something like this ... "On the Internet there will a company in every industry segment that rises to become the Dell in it's field".

Lola:)

The SI community has changed. In the beginning it was a real community, and if you were interested in a company or stock, often the people who posted there were right int he trenches, in the industry, or some people had done extensive DD...or in the case of technical trading, they liked sharing info....everybody benefitted and everybody worked hard

There is no "SI" now---when it was taken over by Go2Net it started to change----firing SI Bob and changing the font was a definite sea-change; I suppose as the NAZ/internuts went, so did SI quality. Also I think they spent too much $ on bells and whistles. Its nice to have some charting capacities, but basically anyone serious about investing/trading will get their news/charts elsewhere anyway.

I still think its the best place for info but you have to wade through a lot more junk.
