my sympathies... a good friend of mine's mother was an OB/GYN who was basically ruined by a bogus lawsuit (Jeffrey Figer, Kevorkian's attorney, was the plaintiff's lawyer). I read somewhere that OB/Gyn's premiums are the highest around--something like $400,000 a year in Florida.

My grandfather, a neurosurgeon, got so annoyed in the seventies that he helped to found Pro National, a malpractice insurance firm. Before that, he actually spent a while with no coverage at all. He's crazy, but good... He never lost a case. Once, a plaintiff tried to get him to settle for $1, but he refused.
