MM, Gotta love Dook. Stanford is a terrific team, but they always find a way to lose to somebody. Michigan State will be tough. And I suspect we haven't heard the last of Illinois. Other than those teams, I don't really think much of the field. The NCAA became boring when they expanded it to 64 teams, 48 of which are mediocre. Major conference champs and a few top independents should be invited, perhaps 24 teams, at most. The other worthy teams should go to the NIT. Then, the NIT champs should get a shot at the NCAA champs just for fun. Now it is too much like the NBA playoffs. There is no reward for having a great regular season. And I hate conference tournaments. Note that I did not list The Big Ten or Twelve tourney winners as great teams, though it would be interesting if the Sooners won in football and basketball.
