I recently got some shares in Wal-mart De Mexico.
The things I like about it:

1) It is growing faster than WMT.
2) It paid a big dividend
3) It is a major weighted item on the index for Mexico
4) One of the biggest employers in Mexico
5) It kills all the competition.

Basically, Wal-Mart decided years ago to really go heavy in making this a strong stock. They had a aggressive buy-back program and invested heavily in Mexico.

I think it is now trying to position itself as both a growth stock and a dependable investment for dividends (so the Mexican fund managers will all pick it up).
