Ian, It was interesting to read about Intel delaying for a year, the start of production at their new Ireland plant. What was even more interesting was that they insisted that they have not altered their $7.5 billion capex budget. I wonder how long they'll be able to keep cutting back without revising capex. I suspect that the longer they continue to vehemently defend their spending plans, the more impact it will have when (if) they give in and lower the number.

The chipmaker still plans capital spending of $7.5 billion this year, as announced in January and reiterated with last week's reduced outlook, he said. "That forecast has not changed, but given the current economic environment, (postponing the project) is a prudent sort of thing to do," Mulloy said.
