Jeff, There was a good show on the History channel last night, or the night before, that was all about the Bay of Pigs invasion. Without going into detail, it was reported that the Cuban exiles, and some CIA agents, that took part in that raid, were promised air support that they did not get, which allowed Castro to muster his troops and surround the beachhead.

I read what Haq said, and that is what happened IMHO..there was an old joke that Jack Kennedy found a crumpled note in his pocket from Bobby, and when he read it it said, "Don't forget air coverage for Bay of Pigs."
